Hospital and Children's Nutrition Center

We didn't take many pictures at the hospital because it did not feel appropriate. It was very sad to see so many children in critical condition. One child died while we were there and the mother carried him back to the village. Traditionally, the mother does not cry until the baby is presented to the village chief. The cost of treating a patient per day is only $1.50 so donations go a long way. This picture is of two children being treated for malnutrition at a related children's nutrition center.

We have so much and they have so little. Your trip was a real eye opener, wasn't it?

As a mother, I can't even imagine the hopelessness these people feel that can't get medical help for their children.

This just breaks my heart. Being there in person must have been so difficult.
